Spoken words, poems, and songs has historically been an avenue for individuals to express their deepest thoughts and desires. Some used the form of spoken words and songs to liberate and free themselves from oppression and finding salvation within them. Currently, Youth are using the art of “Spoken Words” as a form of liberation and defining the world as they see it. Poetry/Spoken words has become an avenue for youth and young adults to express their fear, anger, desire, frustration, ambition and so many different emotions.

We had a great Poetry Slam August 18th, 2017. Our youth/young adults were able to showcase their poetry they worked on during the program. Below are samples of the work they did in the professional studio.
